17 Polonceau-Träger
der französische Eisenbahningenieur Camille Polonceau entwickelte in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jh. einen speziellen Bindertyp für weit gespannte Bahnhofshallen (berühmte Beispiele: Gare du Nord, Paris, und Westbahnhof, Budapest). Nach Polonceaus Konstruktionsprinzip kann man die hölzernen Sparren eines Satteldaches als unterspannte Träger auffassen, die mit einem horizontalen Zugband verbunden sind. Für die Unterspannung und das Zugband hatte Polonceau Schmiedeeisen vorgesehen, so dass es sich ursprünglich um eine Mischkonstruktion handelte, bei der die Werkstoffe entsprechend ihrer spezifischen Eigenschaft eingesetzt wurden. Wegen der Brandgefahr wurden die Binder später ausschließlich aus Eisen gefertigt. Heute werden bevorzugt im Sporthallenbau Polonceau-Binder vorgesehen. Dabei kommen wieder Mischkonstruktionen aus Holz und Stahl zur Ausführung. siehe Abb.Erläuterung wichtiger Begriffe des Bauwesens mit Abbildungen > Polonceau-Träger
